ImagineCRM’s 5 takeaways from Dreamforce 2023

Founder and CEO Daisy Sayre at Dreamforce 2023.

Dreamforce is always a whirlwind of a week for us—and this year was no different. After all the events, and meetings, and exploring what’s new with the Salesforce community, we wanted to crystallize five takeaways to share with our customers.

  1. The new Nonprofit Cloud

Salesforce recently announced their vision for Nonprofit Cloud—a single solution that builds directly into the core of Salesforce, rather than layering nonprofit applications on top of the platform. The new Nonprofit Cloud can already be extended with fully integrated capabilities for Grantmaking, Program Management, and Case Management.

Unsurprisingly, this year’s nonprofit keynote (which you can watch free on Salesforce+) was focused on Nonprofit Cloud. During the presentation, Salesforce debuted two additional extensions for Outcome Management and Fundraising. Nonprofit Cloud for Outcome Management is a tool that defines, measures, and evaluates your logic model and theory of change and Nonprofit Cloud for Fundraising provides new and easy ways to engage donors, raise funds, and drive outcomes with tools for strategic planning and data-driven insights.

And this may have you wondering, “Can I migrate?” and the answer is yes, we are here to support seamless migrations to Nonprofit Cloud. We are working closely with Salesforce to stay informed on updates, resources, and new tools in development with their ambitious roadmap.

2. Improvements to flows and automations

Salesforce continues to invest in making the platform low-code, which can be demonstrated by their commitment to flow. New reactive features, better error handling, and more integrations with external sources, like Slack, further enhance the platform's connectivity and flexibility.

This keynote and our recent blog on the Winter ‘24 release help outline some of these new features.

3. AI is here

Dreamforce 2023 can be summed up in two letters: AI. With current functionality, you can already write custom emails, make better recommendations, and even write descriptions and record summaries using the power of AI. Furthermore, Einstein for Nonprofits comes built in to Nonprofit Cloud.

Einstein for Nonprofits can generate predictive insights and metrics by modeling real world data in your org. The insights that are gleaned can help you make more informed decisions when planning programs and setting up targets.

4. Productivity gains with Slack

Slack has released its new workflow builder, and building on Salesforce’s acquisition of Slack, we have already had experience integrating Slack with Salesforce. Want to open a Salesforce record right in Slack? Want to create new records in Salesforce without leaving Slack? That, plus process automations, is easier than ever as these two platforms grow closer together.

5. The Dreamforce experience

This was the second Dreamforce since the pandemic and getting the chance to convene in person really does help us form better building blocks for the future. When hundreds of Salesforce enthusiasts are gathered together it creates an atmosphere and buzz that can spark incredible collaborations and ideas.

In particular, it was amazing to connect with some of our customers and partners, including a memorable dinner we hosted on the Embarcadero. We had great conversations where we were able to strategize on making things better for our customers. We are grateful for the amazing relationships we have in the ecosystem that have only been strengthened and we’re excited about what’s to come.
