Five unforgettable features in Spring ‘24

Here are the release features and updates we think our customers should know about.

What is a release?

Three times a year, Salesforce delivers new features and enhancements to customers in a Salesforce release.

The Spring ‘24 release will be added to your Salesforce orgs either on Friday, February 2nd, 2024 or Friday, February 9th, 2024. You can lookup your release date using your Salesforce instance id. Where do I find this?

Keep in mind that while some features are fully enabled upon release, others need to be enabled by an admin or are limited to certain clouds and editions. You can find those details in the Release Notes and find additional release resources here.

1. Add fields from related records to your Dynamic Forms-enabled pages

This will save you so much time! Now when you want to see fields from a related record on your page layout, rather than having to create a formula field or configure a related record component, you can add them with dynamic forms. Find your lookup field in the list of fields and select the arrow to see the fields in that object, then drag your desired field into the layout.

Also, see a field’s object name and API name when selected in dynamic forms to help you add the correct fields to your page layout.

2. Account Intelligence View

The Account Intelligence view is your new dedicated workspace for account management. See account activity, scan opportunity metrics, review cases, and log activities, all in one place.

3. Einstein Search

Einstein is Salesforce’s slate of AI solutions built into the platform.

With Spring ‘24, Einstein Search is enabled by default for all orgs, giving the global search bar more power and intelligence from the first click. Work faster, complete tasks directly from the search results, and get results that are most relevant to you.

Access your Einstein Search settings in Setup to turn features on and off.

4. Dashboard enhancements

Images, rich text, and widgets

Create your most engaging and informative dashboards yet with these new features that are enabled for all Salesforce editions. Get started by clicking “+Widget” and select one of the options to configure.

Filters

Refine and target dashboard data with up to five filters (now enabled for all Salesforce editions). This also reduces the need to clone dashboards for different users and teams.

Easily transfer ownership of dashboards

Instead of having to clone and re-create a dashboard when the owner has become an inactive user, you can transfer ownership to another user. In the Dashboards tab select Change Owner from the actions and then Send email notification to notify the new owner, if desired.

5. Report Enhancements

Update filters more easily

No need to delete your filter to filter on a different field, just select the existing filter and select the new field you wish to filter on.

Reposition more than one column at once

Save time rearranging columns while you are composing reports by moving multiple columns at the same time.

Nonprofit Cloud

Nonprofit Cloud is a single solution that builds directly into the core of Salesforce, rather than layering nonprofit applications on top of the platform.

As a result of this new offering, Salesforce plans to sunset foundationConnect in January, 2026. Support for existing offerings like NPSP and Grants Management will continue in tandem with this new offering. Need help migrating off foundationConnect? Get in touch with our expert team!

Experience Cloud sites

For those using Experience Cloud for your grantee portal websites, you can take advantage of these new enhancements. We are fans of the following component updates:

  1. Create Component Variations in Enhanced LWR Sites (Generally Available)
Create several versions of the same component and then use visibility rules to determine who sees which variation.

  2. Refine Your LWR Site Layout with Improved Spacing Controls in Experience Builder
Now you can easily control section spacing right from the Section property panel in Experience Builder.
